Frequently Asked Questions
1) What can Linotox linen disinfectant be used for?
Linotox linen disinfectant is designed for disinfecting a wide range of healthcare textiles, including infected linen and foul-smelling fabrics contaminated with urine, blood, sputum, or other biological fluids.
It can also be used for reusable surgical dressings, blankets, gowns, undergarments, masks, and cleaning mops, helping maintain proper hygiene in healthcare facilities.
2) Can Linotox linen disinfectant remove stains?
Yes. Linotox linen disinfectant helps remove fresh stains while providing strong antimicrobial protection.
It delivers high cleaning power and ensures effective elimination of bacteria and fungi present on contaminated fabrics.
3) Do you need to add any other detergent with Linotox linen disinfectant?
No. Linotox linen disinfectant is formulated to work effectively on its own and does not require additional detergents or cleaning agents.
It is designed to both disinfect and cleanse textiles in a single process.
4) How should Linotox linen disinfectant be used?
For best results, use Linotox during the pre-soak stage before regular washing.
For infected linen:
Remove visible contaminants and pre-soak in a 1% solution (10 capfuls or 100 ml in 10 litres of water) for 30 minutes.
For non-infected linen:
Items such as blankets, gowns, masks, and covers should be pre-soaked in a 0.5% solution (5 capfuls or 50 ml in 10 litres of water) for 30 minutes.
This allows effective elimination of microorganisms before washing.
5) What is the recommended contact time for effective textile disinfection?
For maximum antimicrobial efficacy, the disinfectant should remain in contact with the fabric for at least 30 minutes during the pre-soak phase.
This allows active ingredients such as Didecyl Dimethyl Ammonium Chloride to penetrate textile fibers and neutralise bacteria and fungi, even on heavily contaminated items.
6) Are linen disinfectants safe for synthetic fabrics like polyester?
Yes. High-quality linen disinfectant formulations are non-corrosive and compatible with multiple fabric types, including cotton, polyester, and poly-cotton blends.
This is particularly important as certain viruses can survive longer on synthetic surfaces, making proper disinfection essential.
