Frequently Asked Questions

1) Why is an aldehyde free disinfectant preferred in hospitals and clinical settings?

An aldehyde free disinfectant such as Korso Plus® is widely recommended in healthcare environments because traditional aldehyde-based chemicals like glutaraldehyde or formaldehyde can produce strong odours and irritate the respiratory tract.
Using an aldehyde free disinfectant provides a safer and more comfortable working environment while still delivering broad-spectrum antimicrobial efficacy without tissue-fixing side effects.

2) Can Korso Plus® be used as an aldehyde free disinfectant for fogging in OT and ICU areas?

Yes. Korso Plus® is suitable for fogging in high-risk environments such as operation theatres (OTs), ICUs, and NICUs.
Unlike aldehyde-based fumigation chemicals that require long aeration periods, this disinfectant enables faster room turnaround while effectively controlling airborne and surface pathogens.

3) Is this aldehyde free disinfectant compatible with sensitive medical equipment?

Yes. Korso Plus® is formulated for high material compatibility.
It avoids yellowing, hardening, or damage to plastics and rubber components that may occur with aldehyde-based solutions, and is safe for use on stainless steel, glass, and specialised medical polymers.

4) How should Korso Plus® aldehyde free disinfectant be used for surface disinfection?

Follow these steps for surface disinfection:

Wear appropriate PPE while handling the disinfectant.
Clean the surface and remove visible dirt or debris.
Measure the required amount of concentrate and add it to a bucket.
Dilute with tap water (0.5%–2%) depending on the risk level.
Mop or wipe using proper cleaning technique.
Switch off fans/AC and close windows during application.
Maintain an exposure time of 15–20 minutes.
Allow the surface to air dry naturally.

Always follow recommended dilution levels for effective use.

5) How should Korso Plus® aldehyde free disinfectant be used for instrument disinfection?

For instrument disinfection, follow the immersion method:

Korso Plus® is supplied as a concentrated solution.
Disassemble instruments as far as possible before immersion.
Ensure complete submersion without air bubbles.
Prepare a 2% dilution (20 ml in 1 litre of water).
Soak instruments for 15 minutes (or 30 minutes if heavily contaminated).

Rinsing phase:
After disinfection, rinse thoroughly for approximately 10 minutes using clean water (at least drinking water quality) to remove any residues.
